A new way to experience Lums Pond State Park is taking shape.
Eastern States Construction Service is currently constructing 14 new cottages that will offer visitors a comfortable place to stay while enjoying everything one of Delaware’s most popular state parks has to offer. Recently, the DNREC team stopped by the project site to see the progress firsthand and get a look at what’s to come.
While onsite, the team was able to see the progress being made across the cottages currently under construction and take in the beautiful views of Lums Pond. The new accommodations will include a mix of two and three bedroom cottages, each designed with the comforts of home in mind.
Each cottage will feature a full kitchen, HVAC, fireplace, private deck, and outdoor fire pit. Four of the 14 cottages will also be fully ADA accessible. Inside, vaulted ceilings in the living and dining areas help create an open, spacious feel.
Once complete, the cottages will provide guests with a new way to stay and enjoy everything Lums Pond State Park has to offer. From fishing and boating to hiking, biking, horseback riding, zipline adventures, camping, and visits to the Nature Center, there is no shortage of ways to experience the park. With pet-friendly options available throughout the park, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
